Disc Golf Is Better Together — 72% of Players Value Playing with Friends Most

May 11, 2026
In our recent player survey playing with friends and following their rounds was the most valued feature in the app.
72% of players selected "playing with friends and following their games" as one of the most important things they value in Upsi — the single highest result in the survey.
The message is clear — disc golf is a social sport. For most players, the game is built around weekly rounds with friends, club nights, casual competitions, and shared scorecards. The app should support that experience, not interrupt it.
Many players highlighted the importance of being able to quickly keep score for the whole group, follow live rounds, and easily see how friends are playing. These are not "extra features" — for many, they are the core reason to use the app. As one player put it:
▎ "It's nice to follow others' games even when you weren't playing yourself."
While course discovery, personal progress tracking, and statistics are also important, the strongest signal from the survey was connection.
That is also why Upsi was originally built. The goal has never been just scorekeeping. It has been creating a better way for disc golfers to stay connected during the round and long after it ends.
Today, more than 100,000 players worldwide use Upsi to track rounds, discover courses, and play together. As Upsi celebrates its 10th year, the mission remains the same: bring disc golfers together, every single day.
Because the best rounds are usually the ones shared with others.
