The Throw Measurement feature lets you measure your throw distances using GPS. Track your personal records and share your achievements with friends.

Note: This is an Upsi Black premium feature. A valid subscription is required to measure throws. You can still view your throw history without a subscription.

Accessing Throw Measurement

Starting a New Measurement

  1. Navigate to your Profile screen in the app

  2. Tap "Throws" to view your throw history

  3. Tap the "New measurement" button at the bottom of the screen

Viewing Throw History

From the throw history screen, you can see:

  • All-time record: Your longest throw ever

  • Season records: Best throws organized by year

  • Complete throw history: All saved throws

  • Tap any throw to view details on the map or to delete the throw

Measuring a Single Throw

Follow these steps to measure the distance of one throw:

Step 1: Prepare to Throw

  1. Open the measurement screen

  2. Stand at your throwing position

  3. Check the GPS accuracy indicator at the top of the screen

  4. Wait until accuracy shows "Good" or "Adequate" for best results

Step 2: Mark Throw Position

  1. Tap the "Start measuring" button

  2. The app marks your current location as the throw start point

  3. A start marker appears on the map

  4. The button changes to "End measurement"

Step 3: Throw and Walk

  1. Throw your disc

  2. Walk to where the disc landed

  3. The app shows your current distance in real-time as you walk

Step 4: Mark Landing Position

  1. Stand at the disc's landing spot

  2. Tap the "End measurement" button

  3. The app calculates the distance between start and landing points

Step 5: Review Results

The results screen displays:

  • Distance measurement

  • Map visualization of the throw

  • Date and time of the measurement

  • Player information (your name and profile picture)

Step 6: Save or Share Your Throw

After reviewing your results, tap the "Save" button to proceed to the recap screen. Here you can:

  • Review your measured throw with distance and timestamp

  • Choose whether to share with friends by checking or unchecking the boxChecked: Your throw will appear in your friends' feedsUnchecked: Your throw will be saved privately to your history only

  • Tap "Ready" to finalize and return to your throw history

Alternative options:

  • Share as image: Tap the share icon to generate and share an image to social media

  • Discard and reset: Tap "Retry" to clear this measurement and start over

  • Continue to next throw: If you want to measure more throws from the same position (see Measuring Multiple Throws section)

Measuring Multiple Throws

You can measure several throws from the same starting position—perfect for testing different discs or practicing form.

How It Works

  1. Measure your first throw following the steps above

  2. After viewing the results, tap "Continue to next throw" instead of "Save"

  3. The app keeps your same starting position for the next measurement

  4. Walk to your disc's landing position and tap "End measurement"

  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for additional throws

  6. When finished, tap "Save" to proceed to the recap screen

Recap Screen for Multiple Throws

When you've measured multiple throws, the recap screen shows:

  • A list of all measured throws with individual distances and timestamps

  • Checkboxes for each throw to control sharing (checked = share with friends, unchecked = private)

  • Tap "Ready" to save all throws and return to your history

Tips for Best Results

  1. Wait for good GPS signal before starting—patience ensures accuracy

  2. Stay outdoors with clear sky view for reliable measurements

  3. Stand still at both throw and landing positions when marking

  4. Use multiple throw mode when testing different discs from one spot

  5. Check accuracy indicator before each measurement session


FAQ Q&A

Why can't I tap Start measuring or End measurement?

The buttons are disabled when GPS accuracy is insufficient (> 30 meters) or GPS signal is unavailable. Wait until the GPS accuracy indicator shows improvement.

How do I share throws with friends vs. keep them private?

On the recap screen after measuring, checkboxes let you choose which throws to share publicly. Checked throws appear in your friends' feeds; unchecked throws remain private in your history.

Can I delete a throw measurement after saving?

Yes, you can delete your own throws from the throw history screen. Tap any throw to view it, then select the delete option. Note: Deleted throws cannot be recovered.
